What is an MOT test?
An MOT test is a mandatory annual safety check required for all vehicles over 3 years old in the UK, ensuring they meet minimum safety standards and emission levels set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). This examination confirms that vehicles are fit for the road in terms of safety and environmental impact.

How is an MOT Test Conducted?

The test is performed by certified testers at our approved station. You can bring your vehicle for testing up to a month before your current MOT certificate expires, and still retain the original expiry date. Upon passing, you’ll receive a new MOT certificate valid from the expiry date of the previous one.

What if Your Vehicle Fails?

Should your vehicle fail the MOT test, ADS Autos offers a complimentary retest within 10 working days, giving you a chance to address any issues and meet the necessary standards.

Changes to the MOT Test from May 2018

Significant changes were made to how vehicle faults are categorized. The previous advisory system was replaced, and faults are now classified as Minor, Major, or Dangerous. A Major or Dangerous fault leads to an immediate failure of the MOT test, emphasizing the importance of maintaining vehicle safety.
